The History of the 487th Bomb Group (H) by Ivo de Jong

**Reprints of 'The History of the 487th Bomb Group'**
(This printing is now sold out)
This is now, and always has been, a classic!

In October 2004 'The History of the 487th Bomb Group' was printed, and presented during the Washington D.C. reunion. The 1,000 copies sold out swiftly, and since June 2006 there were no more copies available for sale. Due to the significant number of requests for the book, it was decided to do a limited reprint of 200 copies. Turner Publishing has again produced this high quality book. It is hardbound, with a dust jacket, and has 328 pages (16 of which are in color). It is lavishly illustrated, with over 500 photographs of the men, the aircraft and the exploits of the 487th Bomb Group. All 185 combat missions are covered in significant detail, with in-depth coverage of all losses suffered by the Group. The history is based on official records and enhanced by the use of a number of original diaries of both officers and enlisted men, and the recollections of many members of the Group. Appendices include a roll of honor of all 233 fatalities, biographies of the Commanding Officers, a complete list of all combat crews, an organization chart of the Group, and a list of the B-17 and B-24 aircraft that flew from Lavenham.

For those of you who missed the first print, this is your chance to get one or more copies. Or, consider giving a copy to your (grand) children, or local library.

Lee Hauenstein will take care of the ordering and distribution. If you want to own a copy, all you have to do is send a check of $58.50 (which includes $6 Shipping and Handling) for each copy, made payable to:
